Recibí una mala, muy mala noticia.

Beta Band Front-man Goes Missing . 05.10.2006
Steve Mason, formerly of The Beta Band has vanished, leaving nothing but a cryptic message on his webpage. Mason vanished from all contact with his record company and his management days before his latest album, under the moniker King Biscuit Time, is due to be released in the UK on May 15th. Subsequent tourdates have been cancelled.

Mason left the following message for fans: " Peace to you all. I'm out of here. It's been amazing but I've had enough. The mountain beat me and sadly you too. That don't mean you should give up. It just wasn't me. Over and out, Steve."

There has been much speculation about the Mason’s mental health following the turbulent life of The Beta Band. Sadly the band’s influence far outstripped their popularity, at one point the group was in 1.2m pounds of debt, with only their last album Heroes To Zeros enjoying any chart success. Hopefully, this self-imposed exile will be beneficial.

**** King Biscuit Time is the side project of former Beta Band frontman Stephen Mason. This Scotsman released his first solo EP No Style in fall 2000, and his latest is to be released on 24th April (Kwangchow), taken from the forthcoming Black Gold album.
